Abstract

Implant-guided surgery using a surgical template was introduced for prosthetic-driven implant placement. In the case of a partially edentulous patient, a guide is created to fit the patient's tissue by overlaying the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan data on the optical scan data obtained by scanning the model or actual oral cavity. In the case of edentulous patients, because there are no teeth, a radiographic denture is manufactured, and the 'dual CBCT scan method¡¯ is used. In this case report, a guide was created using a 'dual optical scan method' with two optical scan models because the CBCT and model scan data only overlapped with one tooth and one healing abutment. CBCT was taken after surgery to compare and analyze the deviation from the planned position, and errors within the average were recorded, except for the rearmost implant.
